Procrastination

A quad-tanka poem by Shazzar Kallie

Procrastination
signifies fear of success,
hindering the flow
of facing circumstances
while stealing time from the soul.

In still water time
floats stagnant like an iceberg
concealing the mass
of the task that lies ahead.
Perseverance melts glaciers.

Productivity
uses time efficiently
to pool potential.
Results are realizations
of designed dreams and goals gaged.

Withdrawn time never
deposits back into life.
The gift is given
through delicate days of grace,
which come and go with the tide.
