Faith and Forgiveness

A quad-tanka poem by Shazzar Kallie

Faith and forgiveness
are two kindred, entwined acts,
reciprocated,
immersed in deep emotions
and submerged in the sublime.

Love falls like water
flushing out fear and softens
hardened hearts of hate.
Faith to forgive comes from deep
within as a well of grace.

Without forgiveness
our faith cannot operate
as we stand stagnant
bound by the shackles of sin:
bitterness and resentment.

Confession of sins
cleanses of unrighteousness,
and makes way for change
through prayer and our humbleness.
This allows God to hear us.
