What is Blackness?
Is it as different from white as night is to day,
or is it the color of unfulfilled dreams decayed?
Is it what you see in the midnight hour,
or is it the view from an ivory tower?
Is it the oil that comes from the ground,
or is it the feeling your true identity cannot be found?
Is it the call to finally take a stand,
or is it the way to the "Promised Land"?
Blackness is not the color of the skin,
It's the pure feeling of inner strength, pride,
courage, family, heritage and culture within.
